Course overview
This course provides a clear, repeatable clinical protocol for resolving the most common upper body complaints seen in practice, including shoulder, upper back, and neck pain.
You will learn how to:
- Identify the key muscular sources of upper body pain
- Understand how scapular positioning and functional relationships drive symptoms
- Recognize satellite referral patterns and perpetuating factors
- Apply CTB’s core treatment modules for the most important muscles in this region
Rather than chasing symptoms, this training focuses on the muscles and relationships that account for a large percentage of upper body pain complaints.
CTB treatment protocols
At the center of this course are Coaching The Body® clinical protocols, refined over years of hands-on practice and teaching.
Students are guided through:
- Decision-based treatment pathways
- Identification of the most limiting tissues
- Use of treatment loops, where functionally related muscles are addressed iteratively until meaningful tissue change and ROM improvements occur
Treatment loops are critical because they account for the neurological relationships that often stall progress in conventional treatment approaches.
Instructor & certification
This training is taught by Doug Ringwald, CTB Master Practitioner and Instructor.
Upon successful completion, students receive a certificate providing 17 NCBTMB CE hours.
