Coaching The Body®
Clinical Core for Lower Body 1
In-Person Weekend Workshop with CTB Master Practitioner, Doug Ringwald.
Date: November 5-6, 2022
Time: 9am-6pm, Saturday and Sunday
Location: Omniversal Healing (Doug's home studio), 4848 S. Ireland Ct., Aurora, Colorado, 80015
This course will cover the essential treatments and theory that will enable you to address the most prominent types of lower body pain - hip pain, sciatic and knee pain and some types of foot/ankle pain.
This course establishes the foundation of the CTB Lower Body Protocol, focusing on the key techniques that are used to work with muscles of the lower body. We emphasize the use of Handsfree-style techniques in this area of the body, because they are very efficient for the practitioner and also very effective therapeutic techniques for the client. We will focus on refining the techniques as we present the lower body protocol.
Along with the in-person course, you will receive an online course that will take you through the techniques you learned in class and will serve as a permanent resource. Upon successful completion, the student receives a 17-hour certificate. This course provides 17 NCBTMB CE hours.
REGISTER NOWAt Coaching The Body Institute, we have had great success treating lower body pain complaints, including those that have been failed by standard medical care. Over many years and hundreds of clients, our lower body protocols have been refined for maximum efficiency and treatment success.
In this course, you will learn the techniques as well as the protocols for addressing hip pain, sciatica, knee pain and some forms of foot/ankle pain.

In this course, you will learn how to identify the source muscles for numerous lower body pain complaints. For example, many knee pain complaints have a component of sciatic referral from the glutes and adductors that sets up pain and dysfunction. Just treating the local quads will not provide lasting relief. Understanding the pain referral patterns, both direct and satellite, as well as the functional anatomy is key to designing effective treatments.
You will not only learn to use bodyweight for static compression (more compression than you will ever need), but you will also learn techniques and body positioning to be able to easily move joints through range while providing compressive feedback or vibration. This is a hallmark of CTB work and how we retrain pain-free movement, with feedback on muscles and using PIR (post isometric relaxation, or contract/relax stretching).

Learn not just the awesome techniques, but the WHY and HOW to use them for effective pain treatment.
The lower body techniques in this class are “the greatest hits” of Thai massage that Chuck and I have collected over decades, as well as unique variations and inventions, and distilled down into the most useful therapeutic set. But techniques are worthless without understanding why to use any particular technique. In this class you will learn the techniques within the CTB Lower Body Core protocol to successfully address the most common lower body pain issues.
